Dr. Keith Newby
Dr. Newby is a native of Norfolk. He attended Maury High School, Norfolk State University where he majored in biology and minored in music, and Eastern Virginia Medical School where he earned his medical degree. He completed his internship and residency at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia and
then served as a fellow in cardiology at Duke University with an emphasis in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Newby returned to Hampton Roads in 1997 where he practiced in Hampton, Virginia for 2 years then opened his practice Cardiology and Arrhythmia Consultants in Norfolk in 1999, then Fort Norfolk Medical Associates in 2010.
Dr. Newby has always considered himself to be a multifaceted individual. Basically, that’s a very modest way of saying he’s all work and no play! He is currently the President and CEO of Fort Norfolk Plaza Medical Associates, a parent company of Fort Norfolk Plaza Cardiology, Fort Norfolk Plaza Primary Care, and Fort Norfolk Plaza Urgent Care. In addition to his medical practice, he continues to develop his business enterprises. He currently owns one local restaurant, The Public House in Norfolk
In addition to his business activities, he is a devout Christian and serves as a Deacon at the Historic First Baptist Church in Norfolk, he is a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity, a board member of Towne bank and was recently appointed as an Assistant Visiting Professor of Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Division of Cardiology. He has been a co-host of the health segment of Another View on
Public radio WHRV, and is featured on the Newby medical minute series which he is a co-producer for Hampton University radio station WHRV. He has published many manuscripts in his career in cardiology.
He is married to Peggy and is father to Nicole, Keith Jr. and Marcella. He is a compassionate and committed physician, a pioneer and visionary with a strong sense of community spirit, and a man with a strong faith in God whom he credits for all his success.
